Position Summary:
As the Manager of Commercialization for Equipment and Packs, you will lead a team of engineers and oversee the end-to-end commercialization process for VF-owned brand equipment and packs. Based in one of VF’s key manufacturing regions, you will act as a strategic leader, ensuring that product designs are translated into manufacturable, cost-effective, and high-quality products that meet VF’s performance standards.
You will partner closely with the leaders of sourcing development, material sourcing, quality management, sourcing operations and vendor teams to drive early engagement, streamline commercialization workflows, and elevate vendor capabilities. Your leadership will ensure that VF’s commercialization strategy is executed with excellence, while fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.

What you will do:
In partnership with VF nominated Asia Product teams, you will represent commercialization in all early PD cycle product review meetings and use your SME production knowledge to ensure viability of development samples are to commercialization as mass production requirements.
Partner with brand and vendor development, engineering, and production teams to ensure accuracy in pattern, fit, materials and assembly technics and ensure PD and vendor teams have conducted correct laboratory testing to ensure product performance.
Lead and manage a team of commercialization engineers across multiple product categories and vendor locations.
Develop and execute commercialization strategies that align with VF’s brand, quality, and operational goals.
Serve as the primary liaison between global product development teams and regional manufacturing partners.
Drive early-stage collaboration with design and development to influence product decisions for manufacturability and cost optimization.
Oversee vendor readiness and ensure seamless handoff to production, maintaining VF’s standards for quality, functionality, and durability.
Implement best practices and process improvements across the commercialization function to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Mentor and develop talent, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
Monitor KPIs and report on performance, identifying risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Skills for Success
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
8–10+ years of experience in product commercialization, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality systems in the equipment or soft goods industry.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex vendor relationships.
Strong strategic thinking, communication, and project management skills.
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is highly desirable.
What we expect you already know:
Knowledge of Equipment and Accessories with a key focus on the all technical constructions, laboratory testing, material performance, fit and wear, LEAN production, automation and speed development.
Ability to operate on your own or within a cross-functional, multi cultural team and be seen as a positive contributor.
Ability to communicate technical feedback in an impactful and easy to understand format to ensure fast buy-in for troubleshooting.
A strong understanding of paper patterns creation and an understanding of digital product creation will be a strong advantage.
Strong upholder of VF’s core pillars.
Language Proficiency: Excellent English – Mandarin / Vietnamese / Filipino or Cambodian a plus.
