Job Summary
The Central Planning Manager is responsible for team that orders parts to the delivery phase of purchasing process for parts supplied by their assigned suppliers for all production facilities.  The Central Planning Manager will be assigned a product group and will be expected to drive planning efficiency improvements, maintain build and ship performance for their segment, and reduce expedites.

Central Planning Manager Duties

Multi-Site planning and inventory responsibilityManage OTS Supplier PerformanceManage/work with 3rd party logistics vendorsAnalyze shortage database for product level trends, then define cross-functional teams to address systemic / chronic performance issuesAnalyze Inventory for opportunities to improve turns and identify excess at the product group levelWork with Logistics & Purchasing to drive item receipt efficiency without deleveraging logistics costsSupport Logistics Supply Chain Engineering, Engineering, and Purchasing team projects to leverage transit lanes, carriers, and to make best make/buy decisions and to establish logistics planManage International Trade Compliance rules and practicesDrive reduction in obsolete inventory through precise management of BU flexibility programs, work with engineering on item rework and deviation use, and BU reporting on OBS risk associated with schedule changesMonitor planned excess inventory to ensure inflows and outflows match submitted project plansSupport Central Planning Supervisors with maintenance of Standard Work guide for Central Planning


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

4-8 years’ experience in purchasing, planning or materialsStrong interpersonal skillsPrior Leadership Experience PreferredKnowledge of International Trade Compliance rules and practicesAbility to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast paced environmentStrong oral and written communication skills, including intercultural communicationNegotiation skills including conflict managementKnowledge of MRP/ERP, Pull/Kan-ban, and Two-Bin inventory planning systems and Bill of MaterialsMust have current PC/software proficiency including Microsoft OfficeOrganized and strong attention to detailAbility to synthesize large amount of data quickly and stay calm under pressureFour year college degree with a focus on Supply Chain or related field required
