Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The Manager, Business & Legal Affairs will provide administrative and legal support to the Business & Legal Affairs department at Telemundo Network focusing on corporate matters and transactions, document management, and contract support tasks under the close supervision of legal counsel, while ensuring internal compliance with corporate policies and procedures. This position does not include independent legal analysis or decision-making authority. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, exhibits excellent judgment, and can handle heavy correspondence/drafting/invoice processing.
Job Duties:
+ Draft, review, and revise a variety of legal documents under attorney supervision, including scopes of work, work authorizations, NDAs, releases, and amendments.
+ Assist in the execution of agreements related to sponsorships, collaborations, events, licensing, influencers, technology, services, and procurement by coordinating internal communications and facilitating alignment among business units and stakeholders.
+ Prepare deal summaries, executive memos, and updates on corporate records for internal stakeholders and the legal department.
+ Serve as a dedicated legal liaison for assigned internal client groups, advising on matters such as IP rights, content clearance, publicity/privacy, and brand partnerships.
+ Conduct legal risk assessments, including international laws, and support the development of internal policies, rules, and guidelines for events, facilities, and corporate initiatives.
+ Respond to internal inquiries regarding contract status, legal procedures, and policy interpretation, escalating to counsel as needed.
+ Conduct rights analysis of agreements involving Telemundo intellectual property and coordinate with stakeholders on trademark licensing, content usage, and clearance matters.
+ Maintain and update legal databases, including contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., Airtable, CLM systems), and track key contract milestones to ensure compliance with corporate policies and timely follow-up.
+ Liaise with departments such as Sourcing, EHS, Risk Management, Finance, and other NBCUniversal legal teams (e.g., News, Sports, Compliance, Affiliates) to support high-risk events and cross-functional legal matters.
+ Assist in developing and delivering legal training sessions and presentations for business units (English and Spanish for the U.S. and Latin America), and support compliance initiatives and internal audits.
+ Manage special projects and legal initiatives under the direction of Senior Counsel.
+ Process legal invoices and provide administrative support to the Business & Legal Affairs team.
+ Identify and implement improvements to legal workflows, templates, and operational efficiencies.
+ Maintain confidentiality of all legal and business information.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the legal field (legal environment of a company or law firm).
+ At least one to two years of experience with contract drafting and management.
+ Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Paralegal Certificate a plus).
+ Superior interpersonal communication, drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal skills and able to conduct business and analyze legal matters in Spanish and English.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management tools.
+ A high degree of confidentiality and discretion are expected for all matters and documents.

Additional Requirements:
+ This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
+ Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends.
+ Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
+ Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area.
+ Must be 18 years or older.
+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
