We’re currently seeking a Manager, Business Intelligence to join our Headquarters team!
In this role you will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across our retail chain. Responsible for leading a team of data engineers, data analysts and report developers as well as data scientists overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of reporting, dashboards, and analytical solutions. Works closely with various departments, including Marketing, Store Operations, and Finance to understand their data needs, deliver impactful insights, and foster a data-driven culture throughout the organization. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of retail business operations.
What You Will Do:
Strategic Leadership:
Contribute to the development and execution of the company's BI strategy and roadmap, aligning with overall business objectives and data governance principles Identify and evaluate new BI tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance data capabilities and reporting efficiency Collaborate with other departments to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across various source systemsTeam Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI analysts and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance Manage team priorities, workloads, and project timelines to ensure timely and accurate delivery of BI solutions Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career growth for team membersSolution Development and Delivery:
Oversee the end-to-end development of BI solutions, including data modeling, ETL processes, report design, dashboard creation, and data visualization Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of all BI reports and dashboards Implement best practices for data visualization, user experience, and performance optimization in BI tools Manage the BI platform environment, ensuring stability, security, and scalability Perform complex data analysis to identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges within the retail business (e.g., sales performance, inventory turnover, customer behavior, promotional effectiveness, operational efficiency) Present findings and recommendations to various levels of management in a clear, concise, and compelling manner Proactively identify areas where data can provide strategic advantage or solve business problems Implement processes to monitor and improve the quality and integrity of data used for BI reportingCross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner extensively with business stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Operations, Finance) to gather requirements, understand their analytical needs, and translate them into technical specifications Provide expert guidance and consultation on data interpretation, trend analysis, and performance measurement Conduct training sessions and provide documentation to empower business users to effectively leverage BI tools and reportsBudget & Resource Management:
Manage the Business Intelligence systems technology budget, including hardware, software licenses, services, and personnel Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and project deliveryHow You Will Shine:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred 5+ years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, or related field 2-3 years' experience in a leadership or managerial role Strong experience within the retail industry is highly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of retail KPIs, operations, and common challenges Expertise with leading BI tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik Sense). Domo experience is strongly preferred Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery) Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and tools Strong understanding of data modeling principles for reporting and analytics Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Proven ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing Experience managing projects and working in an agile environment is a plus Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the organization
