Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure a service oriented environment while maintaining care of bowling center facilities and equipment. Assist with managing the daily facility operations issues and in the development, implementation, enforcement and evaluation of facility policies and procedures, risk management plans; stay abreast of current regional and national trends regarding bowling, leagues and tournaments; budget preparation and management of assigned areas; coordinate maintenance of work area and equipment; prepare operating reports-assessments and participation information. Provide supervision for programs and special events; develop and enforce policies and regulations, while maintaining a positive experience and ensuring the safety of all participants.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
+ Manages and coordinates the activities of the bowling center to ensure it becomes financially stable. Responsible for area budget, program assessment and review and offering revenue generating programs prepare semi-annual and annual operating reports. Establishes, implements, communicates, the marketing strategies to ensure center achieves it's goals and objectives within the specified budget. Stay abreast of current regional and national trends regarding area programs through participation in professional organizations and networking.
+ Provides effective leadership within the department and effectively manages and supervises all bowling center staff to ensure excellence in customer service is achieved. Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, reprimanding and terminating employees as necessary with the approval of the supervisors.
+ Assist in the oversight of facility operations, staff scheduling, and event management of the Student Recreation Center.
+ Works collaboratively with Recreation Sports and Student Affairs, coordinates and attends staff meetings, trainings, and workshops as appropriate.
+ Assist with the development and implementation of an operations manual; emergency action procedures and risk management plans, including service trainings, drills, and emergency response audits; develop appropriate program assessment tools to measure and reports program effectiveness; and prepare annual reports documenting, achievements and challenges.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
+ Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Three years of related experience in customer service, personnel/staff management and supervision, technology support, teaching or training in recreational/leisure sports.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills required.
+ Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
+ Good o rganizational skills.
+ Ability to lead and supervise team members.
Other Requirements:
+ Must be able to evenings and weekends.
Special Requirements:
+ Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
