About the RoleThe Manager, Benefits is responsible for health and wellness benefits in the USA in addition to international benefits in some DoorDash countries including Mexico and India. This individual will have oversight of our self-insured US health programs (medical, pharmacy), dental and vision, in addition to our wellness programs, including fertility and mental health. The role also includes ownership of vendor relationships and benefits procurement activities—including contract negotiations, renewals, and management of RFP processes. We are seeking a versatile, quick-thinking team member to join our team and support employees company-wide. This role is a full-time opportunity. You will report into the Director of Benefits on our Total Rewards team in our People organization. We expect this role to be 100% remote with occasional travel to offsite meetings with the team, who are based remotely throughout the US.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Oversee and manage the administration of self-insured and fully insured U.S. health plans. Lead the development and implementation of wellness programs, encompassing mental health support, fertility assistance, and other employee well-being initiatives. Lead vendor management for all health and wellness programs, including performance monitoring, service escalations, and partnership reviews. Analyze benefits data to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and inform strategic decisions. Own end-to-end contract negotiation and renewal processes with benefits vendors and brokers. Conduct RFPs for new benefit programs or to evaluate existing vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness, innovation, and alignment with employee needs. Collaborate with international partners to manage benefits programs in countries such as Mexico and India, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with company standards. Partner with cross-functional teams, including Payroll, HRBP, ER, Legal, and Operations, to develop benefit policies and programs and ensure seamless integration and communication of benefits programs. Utilize technological advancements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits administration. Support M&A activities by integrating and aligning benefits programs across newly acquired entities. Support other initiatives as needed. We’re excited about you because… You have at least 5 years of experience managing fully and self-insured U.S. health plans and wellness programs, including RFP, contract negotiation and vendor management. You possess a strong understanding of international benefits programs and have successfully managed benefits in countries outside the U.S. You demonstrate excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. You excel in cross-functional collaboration and have a track record of working effectively with diverse teams. You are proactive, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You have experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance culture where the business is constantly evolving. You have excellent judgment and the ability to make sound decisions independently. You leverage technology to optimize processes for scale and efficiency and improve the customer experience (e.g. Workday, ChatGPT).
