Job Summary
The Manager, under direction, manages and provides leadership to an assigned department, program, or service center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Develops, organizes, implements, and oversees department activities, programs, policies, and procedures.
+ Ensures achievement of department goals.
+ Develops and implements operational strategies.
+ Supervises and trains unit staff.
+ Plans and directs workflow.
+ Investigates complaints and resolves problems.
+ Reviews, recommends, and implements policy changes and initiates process changes.
+ Provides input for annual budgets.
+ Directs the preparation of reports for administration.

Additional Responsibilities
+ Develop and support student organizations dedicated to banking and finance activities.
+ Develop and oversee structured co-curricular programs, incorporating best practices from leading finance academies, such as experiential learning projects and competitions.
+ Utilize industry tools such as Wall Street Prep, Texas Bankers Association, or IBAT Education Foundation resources, and organize industry-relevant field trips that reinforce student learning.
+ Develop industry engagement and networking opportunities, including lecture series, luncheons, and mentorship programs, to connect students with South Texas banking executives and bridge academic learning with real-world experience.
+ Develop, track, and report on student recruitment and promotional activities to align with budget expectations for student growth and program expansion.
Minimum Requirements
+ Education – Bachelor’s degree.
+ Experience – Five years of related experience.
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Education - Bachelor’s degree, master’s or doctorate in business, finance, banking, or a closely related discipline.
+ Experience - Professional experience in the banking industry, higher education administration, or corporate training/executive education, preferably with exposure to student engagement and industry partnership development.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to:
+ Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and financial products.
+ Best practices in curriculum development, instructional design, and program assessment.
+ Career pathways, industry certifications, and trends in the finance and banking sectors.
Ability to:
+ Drive the strategic growth and sustainability of the Banking Academy.
+ Build and maintain effective partnerships with banking professionals and industry associations.
+ Recruit, motivate, and mentor students, fostering academic and career success.
Licensing / Professional Certification – None.
Physical Requirements – General Office Environment.
The position requires the ability to drive, deliver presentations, and lead students on travel within the state and nationally, as needed.

Salary: $58,510.44/annually
