Job Description

Team Summary

The FX Trading team oversees the centralised FX platform (FX Marketplace) that manages all FX activity across Visa. The team manages all currency risk and pricing across the different entities and business lines, and our associated hedging activities that underpin our cross border business.

The team act as financial market SMEs, working alongside Product, Technology and Commercialisation to structure and bring to market new products whilst protecting Visa from financial risk
 

What an Associate eFX Trader does at Visa:

Visa is engaged in a multi-year FX investment cycle and this role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, supporting operational implementation delivery and covering the day-to-day operations of the eFX (electronic FX) trading business. The eFX Trader will be managing FX risk and liquidity across Visa, actively reviewing client performance and using analytics to improve business performance in order support the growth of the Visa cross border business.

The core responsibilities of this role involve both managing market risk as part of BAU as well as support on-going FX infrastructure work across Visa:

Manage all day-to-day exposures for the group efficiently and in line with risk appetite and limitsCollaborate closely with the data and risk teams to implement and monitor the current eFX strategic designEngage with the relevant teams to support FX product design and configuration, operating successfully within a continual improvement delivery cycle frameworkSupport the implementation of the roadmap for eFX Trading product and deliver the business OKRs relating to financial targets, client delivery, risk and controlsResponsible in the day-to-day management of liquidity providers and collaborate with global sales and product teams to drive the client agenda

This role will report to the Global Head of FX Trading and act as a leader as we build out a specialist trading function in Singapore, supporting regional analytics and reporting, as well as representing Trading in local business discussions

Qualifications

What you will need:

Degree in any relevant discipline8+ years' experience in an FX role. This can be within trading, sales or productTo have worked in either the buy side (Asset Manager, Hedge Fund or Corporate), sell side (Bank or broker) or a vendor (FX technology platform)Entrepreneurial, with a curiosity and hunger to learn about the FX market and tradingAn ability to apply quantitative methods to eFX pricing and risk management. In addition, the ability to use data science to make observations and identify patterns where relevantKnowledge and understanding of payment rails, ecosystem and infrastructureExcellent interpersonal skills with a proactive / business-building aptitudeAbility to conceptualize solutions, to deliver and execute on themA pragmatic approach to apply prioritisation whilst still thinking creatively on project workA team player who can collaborate and communicate with diverse stakeholders

What will also help:

Previous experience in eFX trading infrastructure, API connectivity, GUI and stream configuration is a plusKnowledge and understanding of eFX pricing and risk management strategies

This is an extremely rare opportunity to help shape and rebuild the FX infrastructure and platform for a company with as substantial international flows such as Visa.
