Manager, Advanced Practice Providers, Internal Medicine-Hematology/Oncology **Galveston, Texas, United States** **New** Patient Care UTMB Health Requisition # 2503883 **Minimum Qualifications:** + Master’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program / Advanced practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program with a national certification or degree in a similar field preferred. + Must possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Texas. + Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider and two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in either an ambulatory or ancillary setting. **JOB SUMMARY** The Manager, Advanced Practice Providers is a matrix position with responsibilities as a clinical practice manager and an advanced practice provider. Primary responsibilities include the operational oversight of a multidisciplinary practice and direct patient care under the direction of a physician. **Job Duties:** **Clinical Practice Manager** + Operational and clinical oversight of a multidisciplinary clinical practice with varying specialties and sub-specialties with responsibilities including but not limited to: + Personnel Management + Financial Management & Budget Oversight + Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff and managers, practice and division leaders, and other stakeholders to implement best practices, address operational, clinical, and/or administrative concerns to ensure efficient operations of the practice. + Communication + Effectively communicates with medical, clinical, clerical staff, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient operations of the medical practice and high level patient care. **Advanced Practice Provider** + Performs routine examinations and preventive healthcare for patients seen in the clinic. + Obtains medical histories, organizes relevant data, performs physical examinations, and suggests pertinent laboratory, radiographic or other studies that are needed to establish or support a diagnosis. + Performs preliminary reviews of radiographs, laboratory data, ECG’s and other relevant clinical information; formulates and orders (Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner license) therapeutic regimens for treatment of pathologic states or disabling entities. + Documents histories, physical examinations, and relevant clinical information, ensuring adequate documentation of existing medical conditions; medically classifies patients according to physical, functional and emotional capabilities. + Monitors treatment progress and protocols of patients in chronic care clinical settings; counsels patients on preventive medicine regimens; reviews medical records or therapeutic regimens to insure proper content and appropriateness of medical regimen. + Provides patient counseling and health instruction about medical problems, nutrition, medication and principles of health promotion and maintenance. + Serves as representative and emissary of the physician in delegated matters of related duties as required.
