SUMMARY:

The Manager, Accounting is responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain Lendmark’s general ledger. Working under the direction of an Accounting Officer, the Manager, Accounting directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record / reconcile revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities. The incumbent should be a highly motivated self-starter with supervisory, review, and proofing experience.

MAJOR DUTIES/REPONSIBLITIES

Assist in the design, implementation and documentation of accounting and reporting process workflow and controls. Supervise the ongoing performance of internal control over financial reporting. Recommend control refinements as products, processes, GAAP, regulatory reporting requirements or corporate polices change.

Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring the accounts balance to underlying system support and investigating and resolving any reconciling items.

Review and sign off on reconcilements, ensuring preparation in accordance with corporate reconcilement policies and standards and maintain adequate segregation of duties. Ensure that necessary supporting documentation is maintained.

Assist in maintaining an efficient closing / consolidation process which meets the reporting needs of all organizational levels.

Assist in annual and interim audits performed by external auditors including control execution and documentation.

Prepare, reviews, and approve journal entries to ensure that they accurately reflect the company’s financial transactions in the proper period. Ensure necessary supporting documentation is maintained.

Supervise assigned staff of accountants and/or analysts, including hiring, scheduling, preparing performance evaluations and making salary recommendations. Conduct activities to inform, train and develop the staff members on proper GL entry classification, investigation of reconciling items and line of business processes.

Support affiliate personnel with various ad hoc requests.

Manages Company risk relative to position.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education

The ability to work well with others accompanied by strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong Analytical, problem solving, organizational and leadership skills

Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team

Supervisory experience

Proficiency in Microsoft office products and NetSuite or other general ledger systems

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s in Accounting or Business Administration

5 + years financial services accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility

C.P.A or C.M.A

Knowledge of project management, operations, and regulatory systems

Experience in a technology-based, multi-project work environment

Expert level use of Microsoft Excel and other office products

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $82,000 - $103,000 annually, based on the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Experience of the selected candidate.

This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.

Normal office environment

Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
