Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Role Definition** Manages the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing and other accounting functions for the organization. **Responsibilities** + Managing team of 4 on-site accountants and maintaining relationship with remote Global Business Services and Centers of Excellence supporting transactional activities + Full responsibility for two legal entities., including accounts payable and customer invoicing + Providing financial oversight for UPS Aftermarkets parts warehouse + Leading and ensuring a strong compliance culture + Leading and liaising with other functions regarding key transformation projects including financial system upgrade, Aftermarkets change programme, Global Financial Services Organization transformation activities + Participating in the development and support of business strategies for the Griffin facility, as part of the Griffin senior leadership team + Producing accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act. + Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations. + Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization. + Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems. **Degree Requirement** Degree or equivalent experience desired **Skill Descriptors** + **Planning: Tactical, Strategic:** Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. + **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. + **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. + **Judgment and Decision Making:** Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance. + **Managing People:** Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace. + **Accounting:** Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes. + **Financial Analysis:** Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. + **Financial Reporting:** Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports. **Additional Info** : + This position will be located in our Griffin, GA office + This role is a full time position and currently requires5 days a week in office + Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify + Sponsorship is **not** available **What You Will Get:** + Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
