Mammography Technologist -Trainee – Full Time – Chelmsford

SUMMARY

Under guidance of a radiologist and licensed mammographer, performs mammography exams in accordance with MQSA, state regulations, and with health centers’ established policies and procedures. Receives training on needed skills and performs documented, supervised exams to be eligible to sit for the ARRT Certification Exam in Mammography.

Note: Incumbents hired as a Mammography Technologist - Trainee are required to become licensed in Massachusetts and fully credentialed to practice as a Mammography Technologist within 12 month from the date of hire. Failure to become licensed after one year may be grounds for termination of employment with Atrius Health.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required. Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Must be licensed in Radiography for a minimum of one year. Continuing education and continuing experience requirements as defined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) must be maintained. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

Must be registered by the ARRT in Radiography

Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.

SKILLS

General knowledge of healthcare delivery services. Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Safety including knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds. Ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition. Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment.
