Major Gift Officer (West Oahu) - Philanthropy (Full-Time, 40, Day)
RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manages a portfolio of high-capacity, high-propensity donor prospects with a primary focus on supporting the philanthropic efforts in assigned area(s). • Responsible for the purposeful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of qualified prospects, with the goal of fostering meaningful relationships and securing major gifts that align with the mission of The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS). • Works closely with the Manager of Resource Development Programs to ensure a robust prospect pipeline, utilizing data-driven strategies to develop personalized cultivation plans, and meeting established metrics for success. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. • May require occasional offsite travel. • Occasional evening and weekend work required for special events or donor engagement activities. IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION: • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, public relations, marketing or related field; or four (4) years experience in fund development, marketing, public relations, special events, business or related experience may be substituted for the educational requirement. B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: • No certification and/or licensure requirement. C. EXPERIENCE: • In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years of experience in major gift fundraising or related experience, preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare setting. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with high-capacity donors. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage a portfolio and meet fundraising goals. • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement tailored cultivation and solicitation plans. • Strong writing and presentation skills for preparing proposals and gift asks. • Proven track record of successfully cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts and managing a donor portfolio preferred. • Experience working with donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and prospect research tools preferred.
