Job Overview The Maintenance Trades Helper will focus efforts on areas of high criticality with the goal of improving asset health and driving improved reliability processes. The Maintenance Trades Helper will perform repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment as it relates to predictive maintenance. The functions include examining equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling equipment and performing repairs. Infrared (IR) scanning to identify failing electrical components and recording results are primary functions of this role. The Maintenance Trades Helper is responsible for coordinating and ensuring proper repairs are completed timely. This work is includes, but is not limited to, circuits and equipment operating at voltages less than 600 volts, power panels, circuit breakers, conduits, cables, lighting fixtures, transformers, motor control centers, generators, and utilization devices. Pay Rate: $37.88/hourly Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Train, coach and mentor associated technicians using predictive and preventative maintenance techniques and use of predictive technologies. Workflow management including developing and establishing predictive routes, data collection points on established routes, and generating follow up work orders to eliminate identified defects. Promote and incorporates safety rules and regulations in the course of completing tasks. Develop and maintain a complete knowledge of department preventive requirements, predictive workloads, priority standard, and asset criticality to provide quality support. Ensures coordination and completion of repairs resulting from predictive methods and verifies that repairs eliminate identified defects. Develop work order schedules for recurring jobs based on historical data and experience. Develop, initiate, deploy, track and monitor predictive technology processes. Plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines. Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day. Coordinates with other teams to ensure that adequate inventories are available to respond timely to routine and emergency services. Generates purchase requests as needed. Completes and submit outage requests to support and perform associated tasks. Safely operates company and customer vehicles. Partner with other technicians to perform more complex electrical and mechanical work. Provide 24/7 support with unscheduled overtime including outside normal work schedule. Adhere to established company and customer personnel and operating procedures. Performs other associated duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Demonstrate competency in the electrical trade relevant to the PdM essential job functions. Demonstrate competency in the use of infrared thermography to troubleshoot and identify root causes of electrical failures and defects. Three (3) years experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery. Possess Level I Infrared Thermography Certification or obtain within 6 months of start date. Possess Level II Infrared Thermography Certification or obtain within 12 months of start date. Proficient computer skills to perform excel and database job functions. Knowledge of current applicable codes and standards such as National Electrical Code. Demonstrate competency to use electrical/engineering drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with basic mathematical functions as required. Completion of industry certification program. Good working knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance. Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen. Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision. Valid state driver’s license with suitable driving record. Preferred: State/County Electrical trade License in good standing. Possess the required security clearance. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 Pounds.
