Maintenance Technician - Facilities

Job Title: Facilities Mainenance Technician


 

Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure at Linamar Structures Southfield. This role requires hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as general building maintenance.

 

Responsibility

 

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control circuits. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Maintain and repair building structures, including doors, windows, flooring, and roofing. Support the maintenance and operation of air compressors, boilers, cooling systems, and other facility-related machinery. Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and facility modifications. Work with contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs and facility upgrades. Document maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and equipment performance records. Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety policies. Respond to facility emergencies and service requests promptly.

 

Academic/Educational Requirements

 

High Schol Diploma or equivalent general education.

 

 

Required Skills/Experience

 

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Experience with HVAC systems, air compressors, and industrial refrigeration is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices.
