As a Maintenance Technician – Electrical, your work will include:
Maintain the plant during the shift according to company policies, procedures and maintenance plan. Identify and locate all existing sensors and transmitters of engines and auxiliary equipment as well as test and substitute them if necessary. Carry out inspections of all electrical equipment and take corrective actions when needed. Comply with all safety regulations according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures (including isolation, lock out and tag out) and perform emergency procedures in order to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices. Assist Maintenance Supervisor as required. Coach and mentor other technicians and general labour. Ensure that the working area, machines, auxiliary equipment and tools are kept in good and clean condition. Create work reports according to guidelines.
Skills and Competencies:
Trade certificate in electrical technician level with valid PNG license to perform electrical works. 5 years experience in power plant maintenance as electrical technician. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills and working with multi-cultural group as a team member. Attention to details and precision in work. Need to work extra hours if situation arise. this is a one-year temporary position
