Maintenance Technician - Decatur, IL

Position Summary:
The primary focus of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of HVAC/R systems and kitchen equipment. The technician will:Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R and kitchen equipment in the Decatur area, with occasional support for Erlanger, KY, and Chicago, IL.Assist in the installation of systems for new construction, remodels, and retrofits. Physical Requirements:
The role requires physical endurance and adaptability:Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs.Perform heavy lifting as needed.Work in adverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather. Qualifications:
Licenses/Certifications:Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle in a work environment.Experience:At least five years of experience in HVAC/R systems and maintenance. Critical/Essential Job Functions:
The role involves a wide range of technical tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
HVAC/R Systems:Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems using Building Automation Software.Install and upgrade HVAC/R systems as part of construction or retrofit projects.Troubleshoot and repair HVAC components, such as pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, and cooling towers.Kitchen Equipment:Repair and install kitchen appliances and equipment.Preventive Maintenance:Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing filters and belts, cleaning, and testing equipment.Field Service:Troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment in the field.Maintain accurate records of refrigerant usage.Plumbing and Ductwork:Perform basic plumbing repairs and installations (e.g., domestic water, refrigeration).Construct and install ductwork.General Responsibilities:Be available for on-call shifts during evenings and weekends.Perform additional tasks such as snow removal and operating a forklift as needed. Technical and Knowledge Proficiencies:
The candidate must have expertise in:Electricity and electrical circuits.Thermodynamic properties of refrigerants and refrigeration systems.Proper use of tools and pipe fitting. Essential Traits:
