Position Overview: 

As a Maintenance Technician on Mercury Marine’s Product Development & Engineering (PD&E) Engine Test Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting a variety of mechanical systems critical to our testing and development operations, including dynamometers, closed-loop cooling systems, endurance test systems, and building utilities. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative and has a strong mechanical aptitude with a passion for hands-on problem-solving.

Essential Functions:

Provide service and support for plant equipment including repair, preventative maintenance, inspections and record keeping​

Maintain and support mechanical control systems, including:

Closed-loop cooling systems

Hot and chilled water supply systems

Exhaust treatment systems

Conduct routine maintenance tasks and assist with general shop upkeep (cleaning, organizing, painting)

General fabrication and use of fabrication tools and equipment

Minor plumbing repairs and modifications to hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and hydronic systems

Collaborates with subcontractors for repairs and system upgrades

Support the Building Management System (BMS) and building utilities

Create and manage work orders using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

Assist in developing and documenting preventive maintenance procedures and schedules

Ensure all work complies with Mercury Marine’s Safety & Regulatory standards

Maintain a customer-centric approach in all interactions and service delivery

Ability to work alone with little direction and/or with others as a team

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

5 years of experience in equipment & building maintenance or related field

Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in diagnostics and repair

Basic plumbing/piping experience and skills

Ability to read technical literature, follow oral instructions, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers

Familiarity with entering accurate repair records into CMMS

Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

Mechanical understanding of HVAC systems and control systems

Experience with metal fabrication and welding techniques

The anticipated pay range for this position is $53,100-$83,300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
