Job Description Summary

Responsible to assist with the operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate professionally with all building occupants and respond promptly to facility and technology concerns, escalating as needed.

Maintain workspace readiness, ensuring conference rooms, offices, and shared areas are clean, safe, and fully functional.

Troubleshoot and resolve common tech issues (monitors, docking stations, VC systems, room panels, etc.); basic knowledge of on-floor technology required.

Perform general handyman tasks including patching/painting, door hardware adjustments, ceiling/floor tile replacement, and furniture installation/repair.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, mechanical, electrical).

Address plumbing issues (leaks, filter replacements, flush valves) and HVAC concerns (hot/cold calls, filter changes, BAS troubleshooting).

Replace and troubleshoot lighting components; familiarity with Lutron systems is a plus.

Ensure compliance with fire/life safety standards, including emergency lighting, exit access, and NFPA/local inspections.

Respond to emergencies (fire, equipment failure, evacuations) and customer concerns with urgency and professionalism.

Maintain clean and organized storage areas; track inventory and support project-to-maintenance equipment transitions.

Use mobile systems to manage work orders, document history, and meet KPIs for safety, compliance, and response times.

Demonstrate ownership, adaptability, and a proactive mindset; open to feedback, committed to confidentiality, and dedicated to continuous improvement.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE:
• 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checks
• Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word
May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or stand-by on-call duties

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
 

The compensation for the position is:
$20.21 - $23.768717 CAD Hourly
