Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Team Member Level 1                                       

Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

FLSA status: Nonexempt

Pay Range $18.50-$31.30

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Team Member Level 1 will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility/building and production machines. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, which are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within company safety and quality standards, and within required time frames as needed.  Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

Responsible for all aspects of the facility and its maintenancePerform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance as neededDevelop and implement a department improvement project once a yearProvide technical direction to other maintenance team membersFollow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standardsMay perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as neededFlexibility to work overtime as requiredPerform tasks in a timely and accurate manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationshipsAbility to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusionsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.Ability to use Kanban workflow for optimal build performanceAbility to read, interpret and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, blueprints, printed shop schedules, KanBan cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledgeAbility to identify and obtain appropriate parts for work station operation. General knowledge of machinery, specifically related to areas of responsibilityAbility to judge distances, spatial relationships, and perform visual and/or mechanical inspections; ability to distinguish colors and finishesBasic math, computer, and measuring skillsAbility to perform jobs at the same or lower labor grade than current jobMust be knowledgeable of lockout/tag out procedureMust be proficient in at least one of the following disciplines:ElectricalControl controls including 120v machine controlsComponents, including starters, overloads, fuses, circuit breakers, and switchesMotors and pumpsTest instruments, including a multi-meterFacility systemsAir compressors, including operationCooling water system, including operation and componentsPlumbing, including PVC, copper, black pipe, hoses, fittings, and valvesSheet metal, including bending, cutting, shaping, and duct workMechanicalMechanical theory, including bearings, bushings, levers, pulleys, drives, transmissions, gear boxes, and clutchesHydraulics/pneumatics including motors, pumps, hoses, pipes, and fittingsPlumbing, including PVC, copper, black pipe, hoses, fittings, and valves

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, and rarely lift over 60 pounds.  Any lifts over 35 pounds should be done with assistance.Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity; ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motionsAbility to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of timeAbility to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to operate industrial powered equipment within manufacturer’s height and weight requirements and guidelines for operators

MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate any and all equipment associated with the essential duties of the facilities maintenance criteriaObtain appropriate LCN Powered Industrial Vehicle licenses, including license to operate a forkliftAbility to use hand or power toolsAbility to use robotics systems technologyAbility to use two hand palm buttonsAbility to use testing equipment

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to various chemicals including greases, oils, and adhesives in safe exposure amounts and approved for use in our facility by EHS Exposure to temperature changesExposure to moderate noise levels with intermittent loud noisesExposure to vibrationExposure to dirt and/or dustExposure to sharp objects and partsExposure to moving mechanical parts, protected by approved guarding and controls

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
