Equipment Maintenance Technician Executes Intermediate equipment repair tasks and performs routine preventive maintenance activities.DESCRIPTION: Tech 2 is an essential intermediate skilled hands-on role at Creation Technologies, focused on executing challenging equipment repairs and performing intricate maintenance procedures. This position is crucial for those wanting to advance their career within the high-tech electronics manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting, adherence to safety lock out tag out standards, and effective collaboration with team members and manufacturing supervision. The incumbent plays a key role in keeping our complex manufacturing equipment in good running condition and is a critical element for ensuring on-time delivery of customer ordered products. This is a role that combines hands-on experience with their prior vocational skills growth and offers insights into electronics manufacturing processes and another steppingstone on the pathway for future advancement to other more advanced positions within Creation.REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports to Engineering or Operations ManagementDIRECT REPORTS (if applicable): N/ADUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:Demonstrates a solid understanding of equipment operation and lock out tag out safety procedures.Conducts complex equipment repair tasks and performs more intricate preventive maintenance work with minimal guidanceHandles preventive maintenance tasks and escalates significant issues identified as necessary, ensuring that machine performance meets the equipment vendor’s specifications and is in compliance with safety standards.  Collaborates effectively within the Operations and Engineering team, communicating equipment failure information clearly with reasonable estimates of the time needed to perform the repairs.Effectively works with our OEM equipment service provider base to ensure we get swift and precise responses when are critically needed in line down situations.Active Participant in the implementation of Installation Qualification (IQ) activities on both new and relocated equipment.Supports continuous improvement efforts by periodically providing feedback on the running state of equipment they service.Is able to influence Operations & engineering leadership regarding which equipment needs refurbishment or replacement.Ensures that the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is kept current with repair parts usage and that completed preventative maintenance tasks are logged as well as any unplanned repairs performed, or reactive maintenance required.Provides technical support and guidance to junior technicians, enhancing team skills and team productivity.Assists with the implementation of new process equipment by participating in the verification of utilities and identification of lock-out tag-out energy sources.Submit Purchase Orders of Parts & PM Supplies that were depleted as part of their duties.Proactive in stepping up to resolve equipment issues creating extended downtimes and avoiding any escalation.Tech 2 Position Specific Attributes and Tasks:Executes process equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) on a very wide base of machines and their associated peripheral equipment as assigned by their leadership.Equipment to service will be of high complexity and strong problem-solving skills may be required to diagnose challenging issues.Effectively communicates task challenges to both internal and external interfaces and will succinctly articulate the details to each.Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing frequency of repairs and communicating to their leadership on those machines that need PM intervals modified.Supports engineering with custom in-house equipment / test station fabrication tasks and performs intermediate-level system assembly tasks.Reads wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and equipment set-up and usage instructions to facilitate effective problem solving and root cause analysis.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Required ExperienceHigh School Degree, GED or military training experience. With a focus on vocational skills preferred.Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.Skills RequiredSolid Understanding of equipment operation and lock out tag out (LOTO) safety standards.  Proficiency with using tools, measuring devices, and/or troubleshooting.Effective oral and written English communication and collaboration skills for both internal and external OEM equipment technical interfaces.Ability to follow detailed instructions, read wiring diagrams, and adhere to general work safety guidelines.Problem-solving skills and attention to detail required.Proven ability to learn and apply new skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.  Proficient in using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) required.Leadership qualities preferred and the ability to mentor junior technicians or interns.WORKING ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS Physical and/or Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to kneel, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel office equipment, objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and identification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential and non-essential functions of this job. Working Conditions The working environment is generally clean; however, this position may be exposed to occasional dust, metals/solder occasional exposure to high noise levels from operating machines or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The employee must wear designated PPE and/or electrostatic dissipative protection where required. Otherwise, office/business casual attire, consistent with site specific safety expectations, is appropriate.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $26-$34 per hour. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance based bonuses and benefits.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, location, and shift.  The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, schedule type, and hours worked.
