Maintenance Team Leader - 2nd Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.  The following duties and responsibilities are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within Company Safety and Quality System standards, within specified time frames and as needed.

Direct the daily activities of the onsite maintenance workforce for production related equipment & site upkeep.Develop, plan, and schedule preventative/predictive maintenance activities in collaboration with Operations.Track work orders and monitor performance metrics via AMMS program & Power BI.Trouble shoot machinery and resolve downtime on machines with a sense of urgency.Identify and monitor adequate spare parts for critical production equipment using a cost-conscious approach.Serve as liaison for on-site service vendors, such as cleaning, Canteen, mowing and snow removalSupport the TPM Coordinator by ensuring Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is implemented and maintained across all applicable production equipment.Support Maintenance Dispatch with prioritizing multiple Work Requests.Lead and participate in Facility/Building-based projectsIdentify, develop, implement and monitor departmental improvement projects.Represent maintenance during production related meetings. i.e. GEMBA, MDI, etc.Provide technical direction to Maintenance Technicians and/or Contractors.Ensure compliance with all applicable EH&S guidelines, including though not limited to; equipment, facility, & team member trainingHave administrative responsibilities for the CMMS system (AMMS)Manage projects to a documented, verifiable completion.Communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner, at all times, with all levels of business associates.Lead, mentor, coach, and develop less experienced talent, while fostering our apprenticeship program.Conduct performance reviews and create development plans through the performance management system for Maintenance and Toolroom employees.Interface with external vendors to complete work as needed.Point of contact with integrated MRO crib for parts, supplies and material.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong organizational skills – including multi-tasking with the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and workloads.Proven project management and leadership abilities.Proven experience with Fanuc, Allen Bradley, & Siemens ControlsAbility to incorporate analytical and problem-solving skills using available data and management tools.Have strong mathematical and quantitative skillsStrong communication skills; both verbal and written.Expertise in troubleshooting precision mechanical/electrical/CNC equipment.Knowledge of CNC equipment ancillary cooling systems.Knowledge of CNC specialty lubrications and applications.Ability to easily interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and instruction manuals.Ability to easily develop viable solutions to problems that require extensive technical troubleshooting and diagnosis. Ability to easily use and manipulate MS-Office software, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.Ability to easily use and manipulate CMMS software, i.e. AMMS, etc.Must have good listening skills and the ability to work effectively with maintenance team members, production teams, and other support groups, i.e. engineering, etc.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:

Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing performance concerns and escalating to supervisor; addressing complaints and resolving problems through partnership with your supervisor. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Qualified candidates must have relevant electronic/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic/CNC knowledge/experience.  A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of proven experience leading maintenance teams in daily operations, facility upkeep, improvement projects, & Preventative / Predictive Maintenance is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch and work in awkward positions for extended periods of times. The employee will be required to climb a ladder and work at heights of 20 feet or less. The employee may be required to lift 35 lbs. continuous and 65 lbs. intermittently. The employee will be required to operate any and all pieces of equipment and perform specific tasks associated with the essential functions of the job criteria. The operation of some of this equipment and performance of some of these tasks may require repetitive motion. On an infrequent basis, the employee will be exposed to noisy, dusty, and dirty environments along with exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
