Serves as Maintenance Supervisor in Nuclear Maintenance Service (NMS) at Y-12 with responsibility for the daily delivery of nuclear facility and machine maintenance. This role reports to a Maintenance Manager within one of seven Maintenance Centers providing leadership and daily operational oversight to manage and supervise a cross-functional team of craft personnel to support the execution of the critical nuclear weapons missions at the Y-12 plant.
This position requires the skills to lead a maintenance team of 8 to 15 multi-disciplined personnel having past experience in planning, maintenance execution, customer service, and continuous improvement. Experience with plant management systems is required to include safety, security, conduct of operations, nuclear safety, and other associated technical safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Execute daily maintenance and business operations on nuclear processing equipment, systems and components in assigned nuclear production facilities within the nuclear criticality safety basis Responsible for disciplined operations ensuring compliance with all in place work control, nuclear criticality safety, and procedural compliance practices Monitors performance indicators, safety, incidents/statistics, and cost information Drives department implementation of Integrated Safety Management (ISMS) principles, Conduct of Operations requirements, Nuclear Criticality Safety, and other key plant programs Partners with union representatives in problem solving and grievance resolution as it pertains to assigned team members Primary Maintenance Center Manager’s point of contact to execute customer mission objectives, organize crews, coordinate planning and integration requirements, and other organizations support personnel to achieve appropriate skill mix for customer needs Primary interface to collaborate and partner with maintenance coordinators, planning leads, and customers across multiple organizations to support integrated scheduling and execution activities Collaborates with internal and external business operation leads, nuclear systems health integrators and financial analysts ensuring personnel and material resources are available for seamless maintenance execution in support of NNSA program mission deliverables Implements company, division, department, and customer requirements; provides instructions and guidelines; resolves barriers to performance, inconsistencies in requirements, and work priority conflicts Ensures training requirements are met and worker qualifications are maintained Provides functional area input needed to develop operational and business strategic plans Responsible for internal maintenance center strategic plan/vision development needed to established goals and objectives needed to advance organizational initiatives Handles personnel matters associated with work groups including requirements of bargaining unit contract; evaluates performance, coaches, counsels, rewards and disciplines employees as appropriate; trains and develops staff

Bachelor's degree: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Thirteen (13) or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
