Position Summary:
Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair the various instrumentation and controls used in the production, maintenance and administration of the UNMH utility services and related plant, systems and equipment. Monitor and maintain the UNMH Energy Management Control System (ECMS). Collaborate with other technicians within the facility to ensure the continuity and reliability of utility services throughout the facility. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed responsibilities:
* INSTRUMENTATION - Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electro-pneumatic and electro-mechanical instrumentation and controls and indicating systems used for the safe production of steam, electrical power, potable water, chilled water and other related utilities
* MAINTENANCE - Assist with the operation and maintenance of the computerized building automation system (BAS), programmable logic control (PLC) based operating systems and interface software
* DOCUMENTATION - Read, interpret, use, and maintain computerized and hard copy schematics, blue prints, user manuals and other equipment documentation to complete required work
* COORDINATION - Coordinate with other HVAC and Plant technicians to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of utility plant, tools, equipment and machinery
* TRAINING - Plan, coordinate and assist with training of other technicians
* MAINTENANCE - Perform calibration and routine maintenance based on schedules and procedures
* COORDINATION - Coordinate with contractors and vendors regarding job-related projects to ensure compliance with Central Plant needs and goals
* REPAIR - Report instrument malfunction and place instruments in the appropriate location to be sent for repair
* OTHER DUTIES - Perform other duties as assigned or requested

QualificationsRelated Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.

2 years directly related experience

Credentials:
Essential:
* Journeyman Electrician License in New Mexico
* Valid New Mexico Driver's License
* UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w/in 60 days

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
