Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the maintenance team to ensure predictive and preventative maintenance actions are completed to keep the site operational.Perform code-compliant welding on piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boiler tubes, ductwork, and support structures.Execute various welding processes (SMAW, GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, FCAW) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty alloys.Fabricate components (e.g., brackets, frames, guards) from shop drawings, isometrics, or field measurements.Use cutting, grinding, beveling, and forming tools for prep work and post-weld finishing.Interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and welding symbols to ensure proper fit-up and weld quality.Maintain documentation and traceability of weld procedures, repairs, and materials used.Identify opportunities for plant improvements, equipment reliability, and safety enhancements.Coordinate and support team members in completing assignments within defined schedules and priorities.Procure spare parts, labor, tools, contracts, and documentation (e.g., CRRAs, SOPs) for work execution.Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and other regulatory requirements.Function as project lead and revise SOPs and controlled documentation as needed.Control inventory and specialized tools.Receive and manage work orders, prioritizing emergency and scheduled maintenance.Attend planning meetings and negotiate downtime windows for maintenance activities.Follow up with team leaders and technicians to ensure timely execution of schedules and work orders.Review completed schedules and work orders, monitor progress, and prepare associated reports.Basic QualificationsWelder Journeyperson Certificate.Demonstrated understanding and application of maintenance methods, procedures, and standards.Proficiency in GMPs and safety regulations.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Preferred QualificationsB Pressure Welding certificationAdditional Journeyperson certificate in a related trade (e.g., Pipefitter, Electrician, Millwright).Experience in interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols.Familiarity with documentation practices for regulated environments.
