Maintenance Safety Specialist

Job Details:

This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor with the review and training of a variety of maintenance safety procedures while working in a safe manner and adhering to Tyson’s policies and procedures.

Tasks:

Maintenance Safety Review Specialists are responsible for performing verifications, making any updates or changes, updating the books, and making copies of the changes. They are also responsible for reviewing and auditing existing lockout/tagout forms on an annual basis. Additionally, Maintenance Safety Review Specialists work with management to update procedure forms for any new or modified plant equipment, and assist supervisors in enforcing or following up on maintenance work permits.

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. This position could work in any department in Harvest or Processing of this beef processing facility. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas, and candidates must be able to climb up/down stairs and ladders. Lifting is required, 70 pounds or more. These positions work in cold, damp, or hot and humid environments (30 degrees to 105 degrees).

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson have a 180-day rehire waiting period and a 3-time limit.

Requirements:

6 months of experience in mechanic work in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. (Qualifying candidates must take a tour before accepting a job offer.)
