The MRO Buyer supports Maintenance, Operations, and Sanitation by procuring materials through the site procurement system to buy goods and services that the facility requires to stay operational. This position will ensure the site adheres to MARS purchasing policies. This position requires a high level of analytical skills to ensure proper stock levels are established, Min/Max levels are established based on product turns, and in-depth inventory management knowledge. The maintenance, repair, and operations buyer must have initiative, creativity, and flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances while maintaining quality standards.
What are we looking for?Preferred Education:Associate degree or equivalent training.2+ years of buying and inventory management experience.Preferred Experience:2-4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing is preferred. Previous experience in MRO purchasing or similar roles is a plus.2-4 years Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills are required to conduct cost analysis and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in using spreadsheet software like Excel is necessary.2-4 years’ experience with MRP/ERP systems: Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is beneficial. Proficiency in using software for procurement and inventory management is required.2-4 years of detail-oriented experience to ensure accurate and timely management of procurement documentation, purchase orders, inventory reconciliations, and invoices.2-4 years of showing the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines. Being able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is important.SAP and Advanced Excel experience preferred. What will be your key responsibilities?Keep track of repairs, maintenance and replacements of equipment, machinery, and other materials.Keep accurate and detailed records of inventory, repairs and maintenance.Operate software (SAP, Excel, Microsoft Office).Controller for inventory, annual and period cycle counts.Conduct reconciliation for all cycle counts, along with resolving inventory variances.Anticipate and recognize suspected shortages (i.e., shutdown and Capital Project requirements) and actively communicate potential problems to leadership. Request POs to be issued through the site purchasing system for materials requested by the various departments. Single point of PO request to standardize those requests.Maintain record of orders and delivery dates, following up when these are past due delivery.Resolve discrepancies with Purchase Orders among Receiving, Accounting and Vendors.The MRO Buyer has responsibility for ensuring there is an adequate supply of parts, effectively organized and maintained, to support Production Operations and Maintenance Activities.Organize and maintain the stockroom and any other storage locations.Create new parts through Mars’ Integrity system, retire obsolete parts in system once there is a zero balance on the obsolete part (will require verification of replacement part, if one exists).Attend shift and reliability meetings to stay on top of issues and know how best to support site needs.What can you expect from Mars?Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.Skills:

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).
