Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Defiance, Ohio on a full-time basis.

The Role:  As a Leader in Maintenance, you will be responsible for the supervision of salaried employees responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedure. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Use of independent judgement. Responsible for training others.

What You’ll Do:  In this role, you will oversee a small group of salaried Maintenance Group Leaders. You will lead the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard GM maintenance systems. You will conduct appropriate checks and tests and communicate evaluation of results. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions. Additionally, you will recommend solutions to problems, and meet schedule and quality requirements.

Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements

 Implement divisional and corporate policies

 Implement safety and good housekeeping practices

 Frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group

 Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment

 Participates in the selection of new employees

 Train, develop and evaluates employees

 Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project

 Lead technical guidance for complex and unusual plant operations or projects

 Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts within assigned area

 Obtain a deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​:

At least three years previous Manufacturing experience

Maintenance Leadership experience

Strong technical background consisting of technical troubleshooting

Three shift operation-must be willing to work any shift; shifts are rotating.

Must be open to overtime work.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):​ 

Bachelor degree preferred

Five or more years of Manufacturing experience
