Maintenance Planner
Job Summary: The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for improving workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, materials, and equipment access. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective execution of maintenance activities to maximize plant reliability, efficiency, and safety. Job Responsibilities: (May include, but are not limited to, the following) Planning & Scheduling + Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. + Create and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance schedules using a Computerized Maintenance or similar system. + Review incoming work requests and convert them into planned jobs with task sequences, labor requirements, estimated durations, materials, tools, and safety procedures. + Prioritize work orders in collaboration with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams. + Coordinate with production planners to schedule maintenance activities during optimal equipment downtime. + Ensure the timely procurement and staging of all necessary materials, tools, and equipment prior to job execution. CMMS and Data Management + Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CMMS, including equipment history, job plans, labor records, and materials used. + Monitor backlog of maintenance work and ensure all work is captured and scheduled accordingly. + Analyze maintenance trends and performance data to improve plan effectiveness and equipment reliability. + Generate & create regular reports for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). + Schedule Compliance (%). + Planned vs. Unplanned Work Ratio. + Maintenance Backlog (Work Orders). + PM Completion Rate. + Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). + Wrench Time. + Found Work from PM Inspections. Materials and Resources + Work closely with the storeroom and procurement vendor(s) to ensure availability of parts and maintain minimum inventory levels. + Maintain, modify and create new standard job plans (Model Work Orders) for recurring maintenance tasks. + Identify, optimize and manage critical spare parts associated with critical equipment. Safety & Compliance + Ensure all maintenance plans including job safety analysis (JSA), lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, comply with plant safety policies. Communication & Coordination + Participate in daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings with operations and maintenance teams. + Act as a liaison between maintenance, engineering, production, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of scheduled activities. + Communicate schedule updates and modifications to all relevant stakeholders. Basic Qualifications + Associate or higher degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical fields. + 2 years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling within a manufacturing or industrial environment. + Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. + This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items. Preferred Qualifications: + Technical certifications or trades training (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) a plus. + 5+ years' experience in maintenance planning/scheduling within a manufacturing or industrial environment. + Proficiency with CMMS systems (e.g. MP2, eMaint, Infor EAM). + Experience with lean manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) principles is desirable. + Proficiency with SharePoint, Power Automate, Teams and other Microsoft 365 apps. + Strong knowledge in maintenance practices, industrial equipment, and parts management. + Ability to interpret drawings from all engineering disciplines, codes, and similar materials. + Basic knowledge and understanding of industrial mechanical and electrical systems. + Ability to effectively communicate ideas to peers and senior staff. + Proficiency with Office 365. Working Conditions + This is an on-site position based primarily in the office, with frequent time spent on the factory floor. Remote work is not offered. + Must be able to work in hot, cold, and noisy industrial environments. + Occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call work may be required. + Minimal travel required.
