Maintenance Planner

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Planner to work within their facilities located in Billings, Montana on an initial 12- month assignment (with the possibility of extension / becoming permanent).
Work Schedule: 5/40 – Monday to Friday (8 hours a day)

Key Responsibilities: Perform field job walks with operations personnel and contractors to assess work scope. Generate detailed job plans with step-by-step sequences, incorporating labor estimates, tools, materials, and equipment needs. Identify and resolve issues related to job scope, priority, task sequencing, and resource allocation. Travel to field sites to scope work and determine specific job requirements (e.g., PPE, scaffolding, insulation, abatement, rigging/lifting needs). Requisition appropriate parts and materials for scheduled work. Collaborate with multiple crafts including pipefitters, insulators, rotating equipment mechanics, and welders. Maintain accurate documentation and support planning-related communication between teams. Utilize planning software (preferred: IPS) to manage and track work packages and schedules. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience planning work involving multiple crafts. Familiarity with field work in industrial environments and related safety standards. Proficiency in job scoping, estimating, and planning in collaboration with skilled trades. Experience using maintenance planning tools or software (IPS experience preferred). Strong organizational and communication skills.
