Purpose of Role: The Maintenance Planner must provide support for Port Hope’s maintenance and reliability efforts by performing planning, requisitioning of materials and services and coordination of future maintenance plans and projects. To be successful in this role, the following qualities are critical: maintain integrity with all daily activities, have great time-management skills and be able to act without guidance. They must also exhibit skills in building & maintaining strong relationships both internally & externally. The ideal candidate is both approachable & respectful, an advanced user of computer systems, understand EAM practices, virtual meeting platforms and scheduling systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with all departments to translate work requirements into clear, achievable plans.Work directly with maintenance, storeroom, and purchasing to plan and prioritize tasks, including shutdowns and project work. Coordinate with purchasing, storeroom, and vendors to ensure parts availability.Maintain physical insurance records, maintenance work instructions, maintenance MII’s, radio license records, and annual PCB reports.Prepare job plans for mill maintenance with safety instructions and special precautions.Participate in the approval work request process and weekly partner meetings with operations.Maintain maintenance and equipment records, generate compliance reports, track crew resource availability, provide job estimates, and prioritize planning and maintenance work with production requirements.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Over 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Millwright, Electrician, or equivalent technical trade, with a strong understanding of company safety policies and expectations.Proficient in reading blueprints, drafting, and operating PCs (Word, Access, Excel, Preventive Maintenance Systems), with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Capable of working independently, making decisions, and maintaining composure in high-pressure situations, while also thriving in a highly functional team environment.Previous experience with EAM, CMMS or Asset Management systems, and OracleEducational background in both electrical and mechanical trades, with an Associate's degree preferred and a High School diploma required.Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates who can perform the objectives above.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
