Maintenance Planner, Reliability Maintenance Engineering
Amazon.com
Without the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, our operations grind to a halt. As an RME Planner in this core part of our large, EU-wide team, you’ll be a leading voice in all conversations surrounding the technologies in our warehouses and delivery networks. You’ll anticipate problems before they materialise and keep track of the equipment needed for different tasks to keep running smoothly. As the expert in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), you’ll be efficient and flexible in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Establish where maintenance and repairs resource should be allocated using our CMMS software
• Understand and implement EU standards across all systems in your scope
• Consistently review and analyse on-site equipment, ensuring stock levels remain sufficient
• Monitor the maintenance system to ensure that equipment levels are correctly recorded, and that forecasting is accurate
A day in the life
The primary objective of your role as a RME Planner is to keep operations running without a hitch. Based at one of our operational sites, you’ll be responsible for managing assets and preventative maintenance planning. You’ll dive deep into logistical performance, set high standards, and aim to optimise the equipment we have available.
From small, individual machine parts to entire systems, you’ll make decisions on where maintenance resources should be applied, working closely with the local engineering team. Collaborating with other members of our EU-wide network, you’ll continue to seek out innovative new ways to drive efficiency even further.
About the team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ people work with Amazon Flex - a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of cutting-edge vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
