Maintenance Mechanic B- 2nd shift

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment and facility

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Troubleshoots, repairs or replaces equipment.Handles system and/or equipment element installations.Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment and facilitiesCarries out a variety of work in the maintenance of the buildingSupports recycling or trash pickup as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS

High School or equivalent.Two years’ experience in general maintenanceOr technical training in lieu of experienceBasic electrical knowledge

DECISIONMAKING RESPONSIBIITIES

Applies knowledge and skills to determine and/or apply established procedures for repairs.

Shift Mon - Thursday 2pm - 12:30am

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the performance of basic maintenance tasks. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.Skill in reading and following blueprints and assembly instructions.Skill in using hand and power tools.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Must be multi-task oriented and able to work on several ongoing projects simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.  When in the shop environment, conditions vary based on the area and project.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

Understanding of deadlines within a fast paced environment.Constantly involves walking, standing, bending at the neck and waist, simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, reaching above and below the shoulder, lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs.Frequently involves squatting, climbing, twisting at the waist, pushing and pulling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.Occasionally involves sitting, kneeling, crawling, twisting at the neck, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.Involves driving cars, trucks and/or forklift, working around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures/humidity, dust, gas, fumes or chemicals, working at heights, and requires the utilization of protective equipment as needed.
