Maintenance Mechanic Grand Island CSD 1100 Ransom Road Grand Island , NY 14072 Classified - Position - Bldg Maintenance Mechanic - non - competitive Job Number 3300053230 Start Date Open Date 08/20/2025 Closing Date 08/30/2025 Anticipated Employment Date: ASAP Anticipated Work Location/Hours: Buildings and Grounds / 7:00 am - 3:00 pm Potential for October to March 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm Salary: $25.47/hr per SRP Contract Duties: + Performs skilled work in one or more of the building or service trades + Plans work; estimates material and supplies required. + Reads blueprints, interprets diagrams, charts and specifications + Requests supplies and equipment + Operates power equipment hand tools and testing equipment + Maintains equipment and shop + Repairs trucks, tractors, lawn mowers and other equipment + Repairs and refinishes desks, tables, chairs and other furniture + Cleans and paints walls, woodwork and floors. + Inspects, installs and replaces valves, gauges, pumps, and other accessories and fittings + Repairs/replaces worn pipe flanges and gaskets + Performs basic electrical testing and service work + Replaces light bulbs, fuses, fixtures and makes minor electrical installations + Replaces window glass, cords and repairs frames + Completes landscaping and snow removal. + Maintains athletic fields and paving + Performs substantial amounts of grass cutting and weed trimming during the spring and summer + Performs troubleshooting and repairs on low voltage and high voltage equipment, disconnects, starters, time-delay relays, pumps, motors and associated electrical components Minimum Qualifications: + Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience in the building or service trades; + OR seven (7) years of experience in the building or service trades; + OR an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the above. + Possession of a valid Class D NYS driver's license Qualifications Desired: + Strong computer skills + Upon request, applicant should provide proof of any earned certifications or licenses Application Procedure: + Apply online by visiting WNYRIC (https://wnyric.atenterprise.powerschool.com/ats/app\_login?COMPANY\_ID=00005387) . + Internal candidates need only submit a letter of interest to Personnel.
