Responsibilities

Summary of essential job functions

Primary responsibilities include repairing, maintaining, and/or reconditioning machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, winders, extruders, and other manufacturing equipment including general facility using hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring and testing instruments, etc. by performing the following duties:

Dismantle devices and remove defective partsLocates / troubleshoots malfunctionInspects used part to determine changes in dimensional requirementsAdjusts functional parts of device and control instrumentsStarts device to test performance Lubricates and cleans partsMay repair electrical equipment (basic)

 

May work with other maintenance mechanics and electricians to diagnosis malfunction. Completes all necessary repairs and refers unusual problems to supervisor. Ensures proper operation and troubleshoots as conditions necessitate. Complete paperwork, work orders, P/M sheets, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

Requires specialized training in mechanical, electrical, and electronics as well as one or more trade skills. In addition, specialized training in the manufacturer of plastic blown film processing and equipment.
