Maintenance Manager

We are now looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our tema in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. 

This role manages the Maintenance activities and Maintenance Team at a plant to meet agreed operational targets, ensuring optimal service delivery and performance.


Key Accountabilities:

 

1. Plant Maintenance Operations

- Manages plant maintenance operations, planning and coordinating activities, managing resources, and scheduling to meet operational and maintenance targets.
- Optimizes maintenance processes and routines to enhance performance and reduce operational costs.
- Implements continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and innovation.

 

2. Team Leadership and Development

- Leads and develops the maintenance team, planning daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities.
- Sets objectives, monitors performance, and provides technical guidance and training for professional growth.
- Ensures adherence to health, safety, quality, and environmental policies and regulations.
- Implements and ensures adherence to company and customer guidelines, policies, and processes.

 

3. Stakeholder Management

- Develops and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth coordination and collaboration.
- Manages key suppliers and ensures effective communication and collaboration.
- Manages the Maintenance Support and Operations Support Team to ensure the way of working for the plant.
- Ensures adherence to the Wärtsilä Way and use of Wärtsilä tools.

 

4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

- Leads managerial meetings and presents key maintenance performance indicators such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Plant Availability, Lubrication Oil Consumption (SLOC), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Plant Downtime, Plant Efficiency (Heat Rate), and Fluid Management (including Lube Oil, Heavy Fuel, GAS, Boiler Water, and engine Cooling Water Analysis and follow-up).
- Monitors and reviews the performance of team members.

 

5. Technical Expertise:

- Knowledge in plant operations and maintenance engineering.
- Applies established guidelines and professional knowledge for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Identifies and supports modifications to plant systems and processes to improve operational performance.
- Has basic knowledge of Disturbance Analysis and the Argentine Interconnected Electrical System (SADI).
- Understands basic principles of Argentine energy regulation.

 

6. Annual Maintenance Plan

- Develops and implements the Annual Maintenance Plan, ensuring all maintenance activities are scheduled and executed effectively.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the Annual Maintenance Plan and makes necessary adjustments to improve plant performance.

 

7. Procurement and Inventory Management

- Manages the procurement and ordering of spare parts for Wärtsilä engines and auxiliary equipment.
- Has extensive experience in managing manuals, part numbers, and inventory.
- Oversees minor, intermediate, and major maintenance activities.
- Possesses skills for technical identification of spare parts and decision-making for the acquisition and stock of critical spare parts.

 

Experience Requirement:

- Asset Management.
- Effective communication in Spanish and English.
- Maintenance Engineering.
- Fluid Management Lube Oil, Heavy Fuel Oil, Water Analysis and follow-up.
- Basic knowledge of Disturbance Analysis and the Argentine Interconnected Electrical System (SADI).
- Basic understanding of Energy regulation.
- Ability to develop and implement an Annual Maintenance Plan.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Extensive experience in procurement and inventory management, including managing manuals, part numbers, and overseeing minor, intermediate, and major maintenance activities.
- Skills for technical identification of spare parts and decision-making for the acquisition and stock of critical spare parts.
