Maintenance Machinist

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, currently has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Machinist at our Air Products Membranes Solutions facility in St. Louis, Missouri.

1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)

The successful candidate will work in the Site Services area and will work well in a team environment where priorities change rapidly.

Required Skills / Abilities: 

Strong mechanical skills

Machine shop experience

CNC milling machine operation and programming

Welding experience preferred but is not required

Ability to hold close tolerances, (.0005) using milling machines and lathes

Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and flexibility in job assignments

Ability and initiative to complete job assignments in a timely manner

Follow safe work practices and standard operating procedures

Key Job Responsibilities: 

Perform routine, and non-routine machining tasks

Assist others with design ideas and equipment improvements

Complete monthly assigned preventive maintenance tasks

Repair and refurbish production and building equipment

Complete required safety tasks and activities

Support facility operations by completing assigned work order

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

A high school diploma or (GED) is required

Accredited trade school diploma or certificate is required

3+ years of machine shop experience is required

Applicable military training will be considered equivalent to industrial experience

Strong mechanical skills

CNC milling machine operation and programming is required

Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders

Able to work in a team environment

A valid driver’s license is required

Availability to work a 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)
