Job DescriptionLocation: Vicksburg, MS - Ceres PlantPosition: Maintenance GeneralistWork Shift:   1st Shift

Must be willing to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties assigned.

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to:

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunctionPrepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problemsResponds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situationsPerform preventive maintenance according to scheduleComplete appropriate paperwork and reportsMust comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programsMust be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairsAble to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervisionCapable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervisionAbility to assist with other mechanics as neededPerform other duties as assignedWork in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity.  It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.

Previous poultry processing experience preferred. 

Computer Skills:  Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
Communication Skills:  Good interpersonal and communication skills are
critical

Safety: Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
