Job DescriptionThe Lube Technician at Tyson RVI-Harmony rendering plant is responsible for performing lubrication tasks and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Lube Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of equipment and facilities to support the efficient production of high-quality rendered products.Responsibilities:Perform routine lubrication tasks on equipment and machinery, including applying grease, oil, and other lubricants to specified components according to maintenance schedules.Inspect equipment for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction during lubrication activities, reporting any abnormalities or issues to maintenance supervisors.Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, such as belt adjustments, chain tensioning, and bearing replacements, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.Monitor equipment operation and performance, conducting visual inspections and listening for unusual sounds or vibrations that may indicate potential issues.Assist maintenance technicians in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and mechanical problems, providing support as needed to minimize downtime.Maintain accurate records of lubrication activities, equipment readings, and maintenance tasks performed, recording data in logbooks and computerized systems.Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.Clean and maintain lubrication equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and prevent contamination of equipment and products.Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule lubrication activities, prioritize tasks, and address urgent maintenance needs.Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in equipment lubrication and maintenance techniques.Previous experience in maintenance or lubrication roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment, is preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with lubrication techniques, equipment, and materials.Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety protocols accurately.Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and operational needs.Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to maintenance activities and industrial environments.Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks as required.Physical ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces.Must have at least 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 90 days.
