Job Details:
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible to assist in controlling expenses; provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements; interpret and enforce company policies; assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations; prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately; solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up; work with maintenance superintendent’s daily to coordinate effective scheduling of work load. Work with contractors and vendors as needed for parts and service. Monitor and assist maintenance supervisors as needed to prevent downtime. This position is an active maintenance role and may require a hands on approach to prevent downtime and to assist in training as needed.
Special considerations:
This job should not be considered an office job. As the need arises, you must be willing to turn wrenches and assist with any and all maintenance tasks, to prevent downtime in the facility. Comfortable working under pressure in a fast paced environment is considered a plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of related industry minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing facility and knowledge of OSHA USDA, HACCP and PSM regulations.
Computer Skills:
Standard computer skills
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to speak, write and comprehend English language materials.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws; interview hire and train team members; plan assign and direct work; monitor and appraise work performance; reward coach counsel and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems. Be prepared to assist the maintenance team with a hands on approach, as needed.
Special Skills:
Knowledge of OSHA USDA HACCP PSM Safety Security Sanitation Quality yields cost and efficiencies strong math ability a plus.
