Your Role:
At EMD Electronics, the Maintenance Engineering Technician will support Maintenance and Cell Repair department activities to safely achieve production and quality goals. The Maintenance Engineering Technician will work closely with department supervisors, engineers, planners, maintenance crafts and cell repair operators.
Review and update Procedures, Preventive Maintenance Task descriptionsInitiate Management of Change (MOC)Initiate Shipping AuthoritiesPrepare decontamination formsFacilitate Outage Planning meetingsParticipate in daily DRB/DIM meetingSupport department Safety Program (BSP / ELSAS)Support department supervisors with daily operations as requestedDay shift position with on-call responsibilities once every 4-6 weeks. Create, audit, and correct Process Orders in SAPPerform process calculationsCoordinate railcar logisticsMonitor SAP point-of-use and stockroom inventory and resolve discrepanciesMaintain purchasing and procurement for stock items such as tools, weld consumables, weld gas and breathing air, etc.…Review and execute corrective actions resulting from monthly audits and inspectionsPerform site equipment surveysPerform minor dye penetrant and ultrasonic thickness (UT) testingManage equipment refurbishment logisticsManage equipment (re)certificationsSupport Digi-X startup in Cell RepairSupport Operational Excellence in Cell Repair
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED5+ years of work experience in a mechanical, electrical, or welding role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Trade school certificate or participation in a union trade apprenticeship programAssociates Degree in technical fieldPrior process chemical/industrial plant experienceFundamental knowledge of materials, pipe fittings, and hand/power tools including precision measuring instrumentsFunctional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; SAPAbility to review and interpret P&ID's, electrical single-lines, mechanical drawingsCapable of working at heights using aerial work platforms/fall protection up to 60 feetMaintenance and/or chemical plant experience
