Job Description
This role focuses on assisting operations and maintenance teams with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, managing smaller capital projects, and ensuring equipment reliability within an assigned plant area or unit. The position requires a hands-on approach to repair, replace, or redesign equipment, with a strong emphasis on long-term performance, safety, environmental, and operational success.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in troubleshooting day-to-day equipment malfunctions, providing technical expertise and engineered solutions.Manage smaller capital projects, including cost management, budget oversight, and startup support within project schedules.Take ownership of equipment reliability and ensure long-term performance, considering safety, environmental, and operational success.Conduct cost analysis to weigh the pros and cons of various options and their impact on plant operations.Participate in the development of design and installation specifications and commissioning plans for new equipment.Develop criteria and evaluate equipment and technical maintenance service providers.Lead continuous improvements for safety, quality, and throughput in the Refining Department from routine analysis.Organize and manage multiple projects and tasks, ensuring high-quality and timely service to all customers.Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics, and update KPI reports.Provide training on new equipment installations.Ensure documentation is updated based on equipment modifications or replacements.Plan and perform engineering research and design development assignments, focusing on reducing downtime.Essential SkillsMaintenance engineering and mechanical troubleshooting.Industrial machinery expertise and equipment maintenance.Root cause analysis and repair techniques.Vibration analysis, infrared, and predictive technologies.Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.3+ years of engineering experience in an industrial site or engineering consulting.Knowledge of mechanical, instruments/controls, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.Leadership skills in dynamic environments, promoting team atmosphere and continuous improvement.Additional Skills & QualificationsWritten and verbal communication skills.Conflict resolution and team cooperation abilities.Strong project management skills including time management and prioritization.Highly self-motivated and directed, ability to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.Heavy industrial equipment machinery background.Reliability engineering experience with predictive technologies.Work Environment
The position is fully onsite with core hours between 6AM-5PM, allowing for any 8-hour block within those times. The role involves analyzing downtime and uptime data, troubleshooting efforts on machines such as conveyor belts, screw conveyors, bag houses, and pumping systems, while understanding plant priorities.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $57.00/hr.
