Maintenance Driver (1st shift)

The Maintenance Driver works under close supervision of the Maintenance Manager and supports the maintenance and operations team by transporting tools, equipment, and materials between sites or departments, assisting with facility upkeep, and performing minor maintenance and repair tasks. This role requires safe driving practices, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to respond quickly to operational needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Operate company vehicle(s) to transport maintenance supplies, tools, and parts between manufacturing buildings, vendors, or warehouses.
• Assist the maintenance team with general repair and upkeep of machinery, tools, and facilities.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are maintained, clean, and in safe working condition.
• Pick up and deliver equipment, parts, and materials as needed to support production uptime.
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel use.
• Support inventory checks and track movement of critical maintenance materials.
• Respond to urgent requests from operations or maintenance departments.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to traffic and facility rules.
• Provide coverage for the tool crib during absences, lunches, vacations, or as assigned. 
• Perform basic facility maintenance such as replacing filters, light bulbs, or assisting with small repairs or cleanup.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs or hazards to supervisor promptly.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED Previous experience in Maintenance manufacturing is preferred.  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL may be preferred depending on vehicle size). 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or maintenance environment preferred. Must have basic skills and previous experience with EMaint maintenance work order system is preferred. Familiarity with industrial tools, parts, and equipment is strongly preferred.  Ability to demonstrate basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) Ability to meet established deadlines.   Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.   Ability to learn, problem-solve, work in the tool crib and make decisions per work instructions and documents.

Physical Demand Requirements

Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers to touch, pick or pinch objects; reach with hands and arms; push or pull; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use foot or leg controls; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. For all jobs no one should lift over 50lbs on their own. 
Frequently works around moving mechanical parts, forklifts, and manufacturing machinery. May be exposed to dust, noise, and temperature variations depending on the worksite. Requires frequent standing, walking, driving, and lifting.
