JOB SUMMARY\n
The Maintenance Crew Leader I performs various duties including driving dump truck and operating equipment, as well as making small repairs and daily maintenance to trucks and equipment used. Other duties include construction related to street and drainage installation and\/or maintenance.\n
QUALIFICATIONS\n
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\n
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid Texas Class \"A\" Commercial Driver's License.\n
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND WORK AIDES:\n
Bulldozers, backhoes, trenchers, dump trucks, trackhoes, loaders \n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: \n\nTwo years of experience in operation of vehicles and light equipment.\nAbility to understand and abide by City of Conroe and Departmental policies and procedures.\nMust be able to work on call duty and respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.\nMust be able to attend after hours classes to renew or obtain required certifications\/licenses when necessary.\nAbility to work as many hours needed to get the work assigned completed.\nMust be able to lift weights of 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance.\nAbility to understand and follow written and oral instructions.\nMust be capable of conducting routine maintenance to vehicles and equipment.\nAbility to use all tools to accomplish the job in an efficient manner.\nAbility to adapt to new technology, new methods and changing conditions.\nMust be capable of reading, writing and speaking in English.\nMust be able to communicate using a two-way radio.\n\n
PHYSICAL DEMANDS\n
The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and\/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and\/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.\n
