Maintenance Associate - 3rd Shift | Now Hiring | Santa Fe Springs, CA

 

Compensation Includes:

 

Starting rate of $27.54-32/hour - paid weekly

 

Available Shift:

3rd: 10:00pm - 6:30am

The Maintenance Associate is the front line “reactive” individual trouble-shooter and systems analyzer. Candidate must have the basic knowledge that allows a comprehensive and thorough understanding of process and electrical controls.

Responsibilities Maintain electrical control systems and mechanical equipment used in industrial manufacturingTroubleshoot and repair Extruders, Thermoformer’s and Packagers
Electrical heat/cool control systemsAC and DC motors and their control systemsPneumatic and hydraulic systemsPLC’s control systems used throughout the plantPreventative maintenanceGeneral repairs to buildings and structures as requiredProper operation of maintenance equipment (lathe, mill, welder, drill press, power tools)May assist in the training of other employeesParticipation in continuous improvement team and activitiesTraining on thermoformer tool changes and startup of production and packaging equipmentEffectively communicate information to other Team Members at shift change and to Maintenance Leadership using CMMS (Maintenance Connection), Work order documents, or logbook Train to follow written procedures as they relate to work orders, PM schedules, and Process SafetyManagement (PSM) maintenance proceduresMust learn & follow all department and plant policies and procedures Qualifications 3 years prior experience as a Maintenance employee in a manufacturing facilityComplete knowledge of AC motors/controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsMust be knowledgeable in electrical system, prints/schematicsWorking knowledge of DC motors and controls2 years of completed technical school (AS Degree or equivalent)Certification in industrial mechanics through an accredited institutionPrevious experience with Thermoforming machines preferredPossess roll away tool box with standard mechanical tools up to 1-1/4", drill motor, calipers, metal shears, drill bit setMust possess strong leadership skillsStrong computer skillsGood interpersonal skillsKnowledgeable in
Pneumatics systemsHydraulics systemsPLC SystemsWillingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays as requiredMust possess good written and verbal communication skills, decision making ability and mathematical knowledge

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periodsFrequently required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independentlyUse of hands and arms to handle tools, operate machinery, and perform maintenance tasks with precisionComfortable working in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, dusty, or noisy areasVisual acuity to read technical documents, safety warnings, and perform detailed inspectionsAbility to respond to auditory signals, alarms, and verbal instructionsMust be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the task

15 miles southeast of Los Angeles, Santa Fe Springs is a city in Los Angeles County, California. It is one of the Gateway Cities of southeast Los Angeles County. The population was 16,223 at the 2010 census, down from 17,438 at the 2000 census.

 

The plant was Founded in 1993, manufactures APET Containers, and has approximately 300 employees.
