Air Products (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking a Maintenance & Service Technician in the Southern California area and will be home-based.

The Maintenance & Service Technician must be technically proficient. The ability to start up, operate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot cryogenic and gaseous product storage systems is critical to the role. This position is responsible for installing product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites. A strong technical background, the ability to read technical drawings, and a strong focus on safety are essential.

Familiarity with gaseous and cryogenic piping systems, valves, tanks, and equipment—primarily in oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and hydrogen service—is required. Project management skills in areas such as project execution, customer interface, and overall project coordination are a plus.

An independent work environment, combined with a broad coverage area, provides an outstanding and great opportunity. The individual will be required to demonstrate the highest standards of safety performance in all aspects of their duties—both while performing tasks at customer sites and while operating a company vehicle.

Maintenance & Service Technicians have some of the most direct exposure to our customers and must therefore possess excellent interpersonal skills. They should consistently present a professional appearance, demonstrate confidence, and always maintain a calm demeanor.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must be proficient in use of hand, and hand powers tools commonly used with installation and maintenance taskAbility to repair and solve mechanical and electrical equipmentCandidates must have proven interpersonal skillsDigital literacy is required to perform projects and other day-to-day dutiesBe willing to travel with some overnight staysDemonstrate quality brazing techniquesAbility to read engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping drawings, and electrical controls schematicsPractice accurate cost reporting for both materials and labor expendituresGain understanding the properties, behavior, and hazards of the products they are likely to encounterPossess and demonstrate strong internal and external customer interface skills and proficiency

Education and Licensing Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalency is requiredWill need to pass a service truck road test and have a clean driving record. Technician will use a Company-issued vehicleDOT Driver’s license may be required

 The hourly rate for this position starts at: $47.91 (8-hour shift).
