Overview Mainline excavator operators Range $34 to $42 The Equipment Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of various types of heavy equipment while adhering to company operational and safety standards. Job Responsibilities + Operate heavy equipment productively, efficiently, and in accordance with company operational and safety standards . + Service and clean equipment as needed in accordance with best practice and operating procedures . + Grease, oil, and perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance using grease gun, oil cans, and other various hand tools . + Assist with plant maintenance and operations . + Perform routine pre-inspections and post-inspections to ensure proper performance of equipment . + Maintain necessary equipment logs and inform supervisor of deficiencies . + Assist in maintaining cleanliness of job sites and work areas . + Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + RCP, Sanitary, Water and steel utilities + Strong working knowledge regarding the operation, safety, and maintenance of equipment in use . + Ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members, ensuring safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area . + Effective written and verbal communication skills . + Able to promote and work in a team environment . + Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality centered environment . + Demonstrates initiative and reliability with minimal supervision. Education and Certificates + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) . + Valid driver’s license and clean MVR . + At least 1 year of experience running equipment. + MSHA training preferred.
