We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Mainframe Network Engineer in the Enterprise Tech & Services. The MFNE team is responsible for maintaining the stability of network access to mainframe systems for end users and applications.

What you'll do in the role:
In this role the major responsibilities are;
Support and troubleshoot IBM?s z/OS Communication Server and all components, such as VTAM, TCPIP, TN3270, FTP, Policy Agent, and SMTP.
Maintain, support & troubleshoot 3rd party software from vendors such as; Broadcom/CA NetMaster, LRS VPS, PKWARE PKZip, IBM Sterling Connect Direct and Secure Proxy.
Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting tools used for day to day mainframe network operations, troubleshooting, and auditing.
Configure and support mainframe connectivity requirements for MQ, DB2, CICS, and others.
Support DR tests and IDC events.
Collaborate (on behalf of Mainframe Computing) with Enterprise Network Services (ENS) and Enterprise Security Platforms (ESP) organizations for infrastructure design, connectivity upgrades, changes and verifications affecting mainframe connectivity.
Directly Interface with external vendors, banks and exchanges to support connectivity infrastructure upgrades, changes and verifications affecting mainframe connectivity.
Support, maintain and troubleshoot issues related to MC?s file transmission, printing, and email infrastructure.
Advise and support other engineering teams? and application development teams? network connectivity requirements and troubleshoot connectivity issues reported by engineering teams, application development teams and business users
What you’ll bring to the role:
Familiarity with accessing and using the z/OS mainframe environment.
Ability to program in one or more of the following languages;
TSO/REXX, TSO/CLIST, or SAS. NetMaster NCL is a plus
Work experience or equivalent education with the following;
IBM z/OS utilities and software such as - TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM and catalog management
o z/OS, JES2 and Network operator commands
