**Job Description**
Capgemini is seeking a skilled **Mainframe MQ Systems Programmer** to join our enterprise infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of IBM MQ engineering and operations in a high-volume, 24x7 Sysplex environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MQ administration, performance tuning, and support for both batch and CICS applications.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Manage all phases of IBM MQ engineering and operations on z/OS.
+ Support application developers using MQ in batch and CICS environments.
+ Collaborate with distributed MQ engineering and operations teams.
+ Define and manage MQ resources (queues, channels, etc.).
+ Perform MQ software maintenance and upgrades.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve MQ-related issues, including coordination with IBM Support.
+ Monitor and tune MQ performance; generate performance and capacity reports.
+ Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
+ Support and enhance in-house tools (e.g., MQI wrappers, CICS trigger monitors, channel exits).
+ Provide on-call support and perform maintenance outside of regular hours as needed.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Minimum 4 years of experience in IBM MQ on z/OS.
+ Expertise in MQ Data Sharing in a Sysplex environment.
+ Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
+ Proficiency in MQ performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
+ Familiarity with tools such as Sysview for MQ and CA-Neumics Analyzer.
+ Solid understanding of z/OS components: APF, Link list, LPA, VSAM.
+ Experience with JCL, REXX, and internal tool development.
+ Exposure to Java, Kafka, and MQ Confluent Connectors in a mainframe context.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Salary Transparency**

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is$67733 - $108811 / year.
This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
