**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mainframe Developer with over 8 years of experience in developing and maintaining mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, and a strong understanding of enterprise IT environments. This role involves working closely with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support mission-critical systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**
• Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Analyse functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Support production systems and resolve incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with distributed systems.
• Document code, processes, and technical procedures for ongoing support and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation of routine tasks.

**Required Skills & Qualifications:**
• 8+ years of experience in mainframe development and support.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Experience with file handling (VSAM), batch processing, and online transaction processing.
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, CA-7).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with mainframe testing tools (e.g., File-AID, XPEDITER).
• Understanding of SDLC and software documentation practices.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies and sprint-based delivery.
• Experience with version control tools (e.g., Endevor, Git).
• Knowledge of mainframe modernization or integration with distributed/cloud systems.
• Domain experience in banking, insurance, or healthcare.
• Certifications in mainframe technologies or enterprise development frameworks.
